Golden Tate and Lions Agree on 5-Year Contract: Latest Details and Analysis

The 25-year-old wideout is heading into his fifth season in the NFL and coming off a Super Bowl run with the Seattle Seahawks in 2013.

A former second-round pick by Seattle in 2010, Tate has improved every season since he entered the league, recording 64 receptions for 898 yards and five touchdowns last season to lead all Seahawks receivers.

Tate's four-year rookie deal expired following last season and he became an unrestricted free agent this March. Unsurprisingly, his improved production caught the eye of several NFL teams.

At the end of the day, I did my job. I performed on the field. I made plays. I helped my team win. At this point, Im just thinking everything is going to work out. Its going to work out the way it should work out regardless of whether its in Seattle or elsewhere. Obviously, I would like to be in Seattle but the hard part is over. I did my job, I handled my business. I stayed healthy and was reliable all year. Each year Ive shown to be better than the last.With that being said, Ive done my part so I cant really worry about it.

Tate will certainly have plenty of positives to build on in 2014 and in the years to come following a career year in 2013 that ended with a Super Bowl title. His steady improvement in Seattle bodes well for the next chapter of his career and can be a source of motivation if he struggles in the future.

Still, Tate's recent success means that he won't be catching defenses off guard anymore and will have lofty expectations to live up to.

But based on what we've seen from the former Notre Dame playmaker since he entered the league, all indications are that Tate will continue to be a thorn in defenders' sides.

The Lions have been searching for a quality threat to line up opposite superstar Calvin Johnson. Tate can serve as the perfect second option in Detroit's passing offense and should be a valuable weapon for Matthew Stafford.

Far from a perfect fit. The main intake tube barely reached to everywhere it looked-for to at the MAF. The surplus tube with the intention of it came with was way too short. The custom dream home she built 26 years ago for $2.7 million originally was listed in 2009 for $2.5 million and has been on and off the market several times, said real estate sales agent Gregory Taylor.

Taylor said the pop-music queen's estate no longer owns the home. He is unsure of the sale date. A previous listing dating back to February 2011 priced the house at $1.75 million but was taken down in January 2012.

Taylor, a former music industry executive who branched into brokering real estate for celebrities and professional athletes, is listing the home for $1,499,999.

"It was on the market several times but there were some hiccups along the way," said Taylor. "It was purchased from the estate and cleaned up. The current owner wishes to remain anonymous."

The home had been vacated years before Houston's untimely death Feb. 11, 2012, at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. An autopsy attributed her death to drowning in a bathtub, with atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use significantly contributing to her death.

In the days after her death, fans left flowers in the gate in front of the 12,561-square-foot mansion. The home was the site of Houston's 1992 wedding to singer Bobby Brown, an event that drew 700 attendees.

Brown and Houston divorced in 2007.

Sitting on five private acres with a gated entry, circular drive and space to park 15 cars, the former Houston estate offers five bedrooms, four full- and two half-baths, a custom kitchen, alarm system, basement, central air, multiple fireplaces, a six-car garage, microwave, a patio, deck, pool and pool house, tennis court, skylights and vaulted ceilings, walk-in closets and a washer-dryer.

The home features a circular theme that one real estate publication said was inspired by Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport. Many circular rooms offer panoramic views of the pristine, wooded grounds, including the master bedroom, which has a circular bed and its own circular master bath.

The home, which is still being prepared for showing, shows signs of age here and there. The media room off the kitchen has a rack of old stereo equipment (including a digital audio tape recorder) and a large tube television built into the wall. A column at the front gate is clearly crumbling. And most of the rooms are empty of furnishings, although the bedrooms are attractively furnished and decorated.

But it is hardly a fixer-upper and for home shoppers looking for a truly unique and private contemporary home, Taylor said he has your property.

"It recently appraised for 1.8 (million dollars), so it's a really good buy," Taylor said.

Taxes on the property in 2013 were $38,128.

Appearing stunned and fighting back tears, Amanda Knox said Friday that she will never go willingly back to Italy and would fight any effort to extradite her to the very end.

Its not right, and its not fair, Ms. Knox said in the interview with ABCs Good Morning America, the day after an Italian appeals court upheld her 2009 conviction for the murder two years earlier of Meredith Kercher, with whom she had been sharing a student apartment in Perugia.

The court sentenced her in absentia to 28 years in prison.

This latest decision is likely to set off years more of court battles in Italy and possibly the United States, legal experts said, before Ms. Knox could in theory be arrested and sent to Italy for punishment.

Mr. Sollecito was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Ms. Knox and Mr. Sollecito have firmly declared their innocence. Their convictions, turning in part on DNA evidence of disputed reliability, have been called justice by some and a travesty by others.

The case appears likely to drag on in Italian courts for months, legal experts say. The Florence court has 90 days to explain its reasoning, and the defendants can appeal. Then the case will go again to the highest court, which may not consider it for many months at least.

If, after those rounds, Ms. Knox is definitively pronounced guilty, the Italian government would have to decide whether to seek extradition and if it does, then the United States government would almost certainly start proceedings, according to Martin J. Auerbach, a former federal prosecutor and white-collar defense lawyer in New York who has been involved in extradition cases.

Barring a highly unusual political decision by the president to interfere, he said, Ms. Knox would be arrested and then have a chance to appeal in Federal District Court.

But now that she has been convicted twice, it will be very difficult to prevail and avoid being sent back to Italy, he said. While the American and Italian judicial systems are different, he said, its hard to see anything in this case that would so offend the judicial conscience of the United States that we dont respect Italys process.

A more realistic outcome for Ms. Knox if it comes to that point, he said, would be to work out a deal in which she is allowed to serve time in an American prison.

Still, her appeals could be varied and prolonged, said Sean Casey, a former federal prosecutor and a specialist in extradition law with the New York firm of Kobre & Kim.

From a practical point of view, the best thing Ms. Knox has going for her is that shes present in the United States and she has substantial protections here to fight and delay an extradition, he said.

Under the bilateral treaty, the Italians are required to provide American officials with information that gives a reasonable basis to believe that Ms. Knox committed the crime.

I believe that is one area Ms. Knoxs legal team could use to attack an extradition request, Mr. Casey said.

After her interview on Friday, in New York, Ms. Knox plans to fly home this weekend, said David Marriott, a family spokesman in Seattle.

Since returning from Italy, Ms. Knox has attended the University of Washington and expects to graduate in June with a degree in creative writing, Mr. Marriott said. But at the moment, he added, shes emotional, this is a very difficult time for her.
